Maciej Popowski, Director General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid, will speak about the role of the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism in countering hybrid threats in Europe.

Ukraine is actively integrating into the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM), which opens up new opportunities for international cooperation. This contributes not only to the effective exchange of experience, but also to a significant increase in the level of public safety and is an important step towards strengthening the civil protection system in Ukraine.

In January of this year, the All-Ukrainian Association of Amalgamated Territorial Communities and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine signed a Statement of Intent to implement the High Performance Module: EU-Ukraine Cooperation in Emergency Response project. This initiative is being implemented under the EU Grant Agreement.

The project, supported by the European Commission under the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM), will provide Ukrainian rescuers with modern equipment and enhance their ability to respond quickly to natural disasters such as floods and flooding.
