What is it and why?
The platform is a permanent consultative and advisory body of the AAATC, which is formed for the purpose of monitoring current management problems in a certain area, studying best practices, providing advisory and training services to Association members for the creation of effective management in the relevant area, preparing proposals for the formation and implementation of the Association's policy at the regional and national level in this area.
What are platforms created for?
Platforms are a method for performing two main functions of the AAATC, namely:
- Provision of high-quality information and educational and advisory services on the most urgent problems for hromadas - members of the Association, as well as other hromadas;
- Promotion (advocacy) at the national level of the Association's proposals aimed at optimizing the legal environment in which hromadas operate.
Who is part of the platform?
The Platform includes:
- The Chairman of the Platform (elected at the General Assembly from the active mayors of the Association's member hromadas);
- Members of the Platform (current mayors of the member hromadas of the Association, which are part of the Platform upon written application);
- The experts of the Platform are the heads of specialized departments and institutions, who are delegated by the relevant orders of the hromada mayor;
- Moderator of the Platform is appointed by the executive director in accordance with professional experience as an employee of the executive staff of the Association.
The total composition of the Platform is up to 25 people.
The structure of the Platform is aimed at using the expert, informational and political resources of the Association itself, through broad and regular involvement of members of the Association. Thus, it avoids the problem of "narrowing" the activities of the Association to the staff of the executive office. The Regulation on Platforms provides for a transparent procedure for their formation and the participation of Association members in their activities.
On what principles does the Platform operate?
- Transparency
- Voluntary participation
- Equality of participants and collegiality of decision-making
- Quality of services for consumers
Objectivity, independence and impartiality of judgments - Promoting the formation of unity and mutual assistance
- Responsibility and activity of its participants
What are the tasks of Platform members and its Chairman?
- Monitor current problems and best practices in the field of the Platform's interests;
- Participate in meetings and field seminars of the Platform
- Together with the executive director, represent the Platform in relations with central, regional and local authorities, citizen associations, local self-government bodies and mass media.
